Police Lockdown Neighbourhood Near Clinton Park
Local citizen journalism magnate Michael Tippett runs a site called NowPublic, a great site for creating and sharing amateur journalism efforts — and I mean amateur in the original, most flattering sense.
Anyway, there’s a story there today about big police activity in the 2500 block of Graveley.
I live on the 25 hundred block of Graveley, and I awoke this morning to an established crime scene on my street. This usually quiet neighborhood was bustling with police activity, including a undercover police van, which was sitting right outside my door. The corner (just a few houses west of my house) of Semlin and Graveley was completely surrounded by the Vancouver police as well as the special undercover task force. At first we assumed it must be relating to a drug or grow-op related operation, but when I walked by the police spokesperson he mentioned that a crime of another nature had been committed.
I’ve never seen a grow-op bust, but I understand they’re fairly common around these parts. I hope this doesn’t turn out to be anything worse than that.

I love the “Grow Op Busters” van they have.
