If he can’t tour Canada he won’t have two quarters to rub together, and other lame puns

I must admit that I am not a fan of 50 Cent, but then again the problem with believing in free speech and the freedom of expression is that I still feel the need to support his right to make music, to make violent movies and violent video games. It might not make much sense, making enough money to rise above gang violence and then spending your talents and wealth glamorizing gang violence, but then what do I know?

A lot more than Toronto Liberal Member of Parliment Dan “Mad Dog” McTeague, who is making his bid for douche bag of the year by appearing in front of every microphone in Ontario to tell Canada that we must all ban together and stop 50 Cent from touring. The best selling rapper’s tour starts right here in Vancouver at Pacific Coliseum on the 3rd of December and hits such hotbeds of urban thuggery as Halifax and Saint John before moving on to Christchurch New Zealand.

Because touring New Zealand is keeping it real bro’.

We went through this same thing back when MPs decided that listening to Marilyn Manson was going to turn everyone with dyed black hair into gun totting weapons of mass destruction and tried to stop his tour. He eventually got to do his tour as planned. His tour killed or was responsible for the deaths of what zero people?

So Dan “Supple Nipples” McTeague, I know you only get on television when you say crazy things and act like a halfwit, it’s called being a back bench MP, but have some dignity. I might support your right to free speech, but I also reserve the right to think of you as an attention grabbing media whore whose only able to turn one trick. Good media whores know at least two tricks, and yours is getting old.

*Also note if you read the CBC article it does not mention the tour starts in Vancouver. In fact it doesn’t mention Vancouver at all, because of course nothing if it doesn’t happen in Ontario, Quebec, the maritimes and Alberta it’s not really happening.
