Canucks vs Oilers 12/01/05
Last night I knew what it was like to be the child of divorce as I watched my Edmonton Oilers the team I grew up cheering for play my adopted team the Vancouver Canucks and I had to choose which team to give my love to. (Since finally accepting the Canucks as my team this season I have never known who to cheer for when these two franchises meet.)
Now granted the affects of divorce probably last longer than the three twenty minute periods of a hockey game, but oh what a 60 minutes it was offering all the drama that Canadians had been missing during the lockout.
Josh Green scored early for the Canucks who were playing in Edmonton, but the Oilers fought back scoring three unanswered goals. Daniel “The Cute One” Sedin pulled one back but even after another goal by former Oiler Anson Carter the Canucks weren’t able to win.
The final score of 5 - 3 for Edmonton sees the Canucks going back to after finally snapping their streak the night before against the Avalanche. The losing Canucks next play on Sunday in Vancouver against the Boston Bruins, so let’s keep all of our fingers and toes crossed that they can win that one.
