Templeton Advice

There are three things I have to say to anyone planning to eat at the Templeton on Granville Street:

1. A pitcher of beer is $8.95.

2. Don’t pick the third table from the door if you want to choose songs on the jukebox. It’s broken. It’ll eat up your quarters. I waited for an entire hour and no Pump up the Volume.

3. Whatever you do, don’t choose Fernando on the jukebox. While the Abba song brings (good) tears to my eyes, the waitress warned me that their jukebox has an aversion to that song and plays the Village People’s YMCA instead.

I’ve never been to the Templeton, but I’ve always wanted to go. I love ABBA, but I suppose I would be placated by the Village People. And were you there last night? Because I was just over the road at Two Parrots! And it was karaoke night. Coincidence?

Yes, MaikoPunk, I was there. But I will never, ever be at karaoke night.

I agree about the karaoke — i have friends who have been cajoling me for years, and it’ll be years more I’m sure.
