Best of Vancouver 2005

Vancouver’s a great city and even though we here at Metroblogging Vancouver have only been around for a small portion of 2005 we’d like to give a pat on the back to some of the things, people and places that make this city great. So we are happy to announce the first ever Vancouver Metblog Awards.

We don’t have a really cool title for them yet, though we’re open to suggestions. We’ve come up with a handful of catagories, and are throwing it open to our readership to decide who, what, when and when rocked Vancouver’s rainy world and how they did it. Just copy and paste the following list of catagories into your email application and let the world know who makes Vancouver great and then shoot the email to me at this address by clicking here. The polls will close on December 31st at 11:50 p.m.

I haven’t consulted with my Urban Vancouver colleagues about this, so bit of an executive decision, but I’ll happily create a web-based form survey on the Urban Vancouver site. It can have each survey submission go directly to the email address listed above, and I’ll have it so that the survey links directly to this entry as well as the final results when they’re ready for publication. Also, at the end, I can forward you an Excel spreadsheet (which the survey functionality of the site automatically generates) to you. What do you think? My email address should be attached–privately I imagine–so we can also discuss this ‘offline’.
