Driving in Vancouver

Car in the snow

I learned to drive in Kelowna, and since moving to Vancouver my car has only left it’s home in the underground parking lot a few dozen times. It’s not that I can’t drive in Vancouver, it’s just walking and public transit is so much more convient and far less frustrating.

Today for example I decided to drive to work and the traffic on Georgia was driving me crazy. Sure Kelowna’s summer traffic can suck, especially when the bridge starts to backup, but the daily stop and go of Vancouver traffic is such a pain. If there’s some kind of trick I haven’t figured it out yet. However I love driving Vancouver late at night when the traffic starts to thin out and the sky is dark except for the lights of the city’s tall buildings.

So I suppose what I mean to say is that when the zombie disease kills of 75% of the city’s population I’ll be ready to drive. Even, as the picture shows, in snow.
