While wandering around Robson last night after the countdown we didn’t see anyone shooting their guns into the air in celebration. Don’t laugh apparently in the US this is actually a bit of a public health hazard [mb]. I used to spend New Year’s Eve in California and every year the local news stations would do features on why shooting your semi-automatic into the air wasn’t a great idea.
