I passed by the Kiwi Pie Company on Kingsway a few days ago and saw a For Sale sign on the headquarters of pie awesomeness. Good heavens! Not my newly discovered favourite pie place!

If you haven’t eaten at the Kiwi Pie Company yet, I recommend the Pork Thai Red Curry Pie:”This is not your ordinary pie, with its garlic roasted pork accompanied by waterchestnuts, baby corn, cilantro and coconut milk and a peanut satay sauce.” Oh, baby, just reading those ingredients, mmmmm.

I called up the Kingsway location and the number was out of service. I then called up the Robson location and, despite a long wait, an answering machine responded, its message one of hope. They are not only alive and well, but planning, said the cheerful message, to open longer!

Phew! For a minute there I thought that the whole company was going the way of its recently eliminated Vegetarian Samosa Pie.
