Metroblogging Vancouver: we’re growing so you don’t have to
For the second month in a row Metroblogging Vancouver is boasting the largest (percentage wise) increase of posts in the entire Metroblogging network. In December we had a post growth of 300% and in January we tied with the Philadelphia City of Brotherly Love with a 49% growth in the number of sexy, hip and all around trend setting posts that we post.
Which would be a lot of numerica nonsense if that was all I had to tell you.
First off after the success of adding a new batch of authors to Metroblogging Los Angeles [mbla] it’s been decided that adding a group of new authors at a time really energizes a blog and does so a lot more than just adding one at a time here and there. So Metroblogging Vancouver will no longer be accepting new authors. In a few months we will be having a new recruitment drive. The intention of this is that when we do start taking new applications ideally four or five people would join at once and really kick the site into such great heights of posting goodness that Apollo stops his daily chariot ride across the sky simply to swing by Vancouver and give us all chewy candies.
If you’ve already applied to be an author then your application will still be processed the way it was before, and you will be up and authoring with the rest of us soon.
Secondly we’re soon going to have the option of posting video to Metroblogging Vancouver thanks to a deal struck with YouTube [yt]. We’re still all discussing how we can use it in a way that takes the word awesome and kicks that up to a plus sized of awesome-ity. If you have any ideas on what we should be using our new powers of vlogging for let us know. I vote overwhelmingly for a puppet show.
