My Oilers beat my Canucks

Once again I was faced with a tough choice as the Oilers and Canucks faced off against each other last night. Though I made the decision at the beginning of the year to jump on the Canucks bandwagon and stay on it through both the highs and the lows [js], it’s still always a bit of a emotional tug of war when they play my lifelong favorite team the Edmonton Oilers.
Still I tend to find is a win-win scenario, since no matter what the outcome a team I cheer for wins, as opposed to a lose-lose scenario. Last night then my childhood won out over my adulthood when the Oilers downed the Canucks in Edmonton by a score of 3 - 1.
Everyone’s hero Ryan Smyth scored the opening goal and Jarret Stoll and Raffi Torres notched the third for the Oil. Which brings me to my fantasy trade of the week, Todd Bertuzzi for Ryan Smyth. Smyth has that never-say-die passion that the Canucks lack, and while I he doesn’t have either Betruzzi’s size or natural talent he’s got more guts and grit than is on display in a dozen Ron Sizemore roles.
Daniel Sedin scored the Canucks lone goal.
