The umbrellas can’t take it anymore.
The weather forecast for the upcoming week, though not exactly filled with oodles of sunshine, looks a little more promising for Vancouver. The relief from the rain has come just in time because I don’t think the city’s umbrella population can take it anymore. They need a break from the non-stop downpour just as much as we do.
I found the poor specimen in the photo collapsed from exhaustion (and sadly abandoned) on the steps at work this week. My own seems to be on it’s last legs after a four year run together, and my friend Ben had his bite the dust after trying to revive it by popping it out against a bus. It worked long enough to get him home and then it collapsed into a zillion little pieces.
It’s Travis who we can blame for all the rain and umbrella tragedies, because he washed his car. I wonder if I can convince him to buy me a new umbrella…? (A red one.)
