tourin’ about the inlaws
So my mother-in-law and sister-in-law are in town this weekend and because my wife is working saturday and sunday night, everything after about noon is me entertaining them. So once they got home this morning from a shopping trip (isn’t it grand that you can call taking people from a smaller town on the skytrain to metrotown doing something touristy, not so much for metrotown as for riding the skytrain?) i headed out with them again.
We walked through the glorious and slightly cool sun to granville island where we hopped a Granvile Island Ferry, or as we call it, the foot ferry and headed all the way up False Creek to Science World…or as we would annoyingly now be told to have it, Telus Science World. They loved the little boat ride, as i do every time i take it. Science world was, as always heaps of fun and they really enjoyed it. I’ve kinda married into a family of geeks, which is just fine by me. After all that fun we headed downtown to my favourite sushi, Kitto. Can’t visit vancouver without being introduced to our sushi. So what if they wouldn’t eat any raw fish.
then we walked home across the Granville Street Bridge. We lucked out, it stayed above zero and the bridge had no wind making it 10 times colder than the rest of the world. And because i’m such a brilliant host, i brought my two tired to walk another step at all, ever, guests home and we watched Cannonball Run. Come on, you know that’s the perfect end to an evening in Vancouver, don’t you?
Today, Granville Island for fresh breakfast pastries and then a walk along the sea wall to Stanley Park and then the Aquarium. I wonder if it’s turned into the Telus Aqarium since yesterday.
It’s the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre.
Hmmmm, there’s no business name in that extended name…you sure that’s the complete name?
By Jove, you’ve hit the nail on the head – something is missing!
I’ll get Alcan on this right away!
