Fall Teachers Strike?

Looks like we might be getting another teachers’ strike next fall.

Now that I am one of the unionized I suppose I should show some solidarity. Really, though, all I can think of is the benefits of a strike

  • I can listen to the teachers chatting at the school across the street from me while I rake the leaves again
  • My parking spot will not be taken over by soccer moms with SUVs come lunchtime - there’s a particular part of hell set aside for these moronic Stepford wives
  • parents will finally understand the terrors teachers go through as they must now control their spawn 24/7

One thing I know I won’t do is sign up for any continuing ed courses at that time. Last fall, all night class instructors cancelled during the strike and postponed until after the strike.

I remember when I was in 6th grade there was a teacher’s strike in San Diego and kids were still required to show up. It was pretty stupid actually, they were just given busy work. There was no learning going on. The school district just wanted the ADA money from the state (not that I blame them for that…. ADA money being the funds they get for each student when they show for school.)
