Seattle prepares for 2010

Our friends at Metroblogging Seattle are already preparing for the 2010 Olympics by helping to choose a bobsledding site for us [mbs]. Or maybe they, like Vancouverites, just can not manage to drive in the snow.

    Hilarious!

Here’s the insider info: those articulated buses, like the one shown all jack-knifed to heck here, have the engines right in the back, along with the only driven wheels.

This system works fine in normal conditions, but on any sort of icy or snowy road having the driven wheels behind the hinge in the middle is a traction disaster. The artics have a hard time navigating roads that normal buses and cars can handle.
