In like a Lion

Much of the lower mainland is being affected by a weather warning yet again today. The wind may get up to 70 km/h in some areas, bringing down power lines in Vancouver and wreaking havoc on the roads around town. The mailman just told me that he heard the Patullo Bridge is shut down due to an accident already, and will be closed until 12 or 1.

The weather also brings a high risk of avalanche with it on the North Shore mountains, and that hill I drove up last night to SFU is inaccessible by transit buses at the moment.

I looked out the window when I woke up this morning and promptly decided that biking would be dangerous in the slush falling heavily from the sky. Instead, I walked – and it was cold, rainy, windy and unpleasant.

I think this should be like in public school when we had snow days on the nasty weather days. I’d like to go home and be cozy all day, thank you.
