Canucks v Flames, originally uploaded by Jeffery Simpson.

Earlier reports that Bertuzzi would be going to Montreal for Jose Thedore [mbv] were obviously wrong, since the Habs netminder has been sent to Colorado [nhl].

Meanwhile the Canucks official website has weighed in on the trade rumours with the most inane editorial in the history of fence sitting. The editorial basically decided that the Canucks could make a trade, or they could not make a trade but either way the Canucks are great and all heart.

Trades or no trades, the Canucks appear as though they are confident with the players they have and will give it their best down the stretch. That’s something we know isn’t merely just speculation….

What the hell does that mean? I recognize the English words used in that paragraph, but not their meanings when so assembled. Obviously if the Canucks make a trade it’s because they’re not confident about the players they have. And why would they be, the team has been about as even as a pimpled teenager’s face.
