Canucks get a goaltender

The Canucks managed to make three trades before the deadline, giving up draft picks for two defencemen and a goaltender. Sean Brown arrives from New Jersey and Keith Carney comes in from Anaheim. Carney will be more of an impact player than Brown.

They also managed to get goaltender Mika Noronen out of Buffalo, where he was asking to be traded. Noronen had been playing in the third postiion, and should be a very good addition to the goaltending ranks in Vancouver. Obviously they’re hoping that he turns into another Mikka Kiprusoff, but time will tell on that.

Hopefully they’ve done enough to carry them the rest of the way, but I have to admit to being a little surprised that there weren’t more Bertuzzi rumours…
