Capsized boat in False Creek

False Creek

Has anyone noticed the capsized boat at the very end of False Creek (the North-Eastmost corner, towards the skate park)? How long has it been there?

When I first noticed it around 7:30am this morning, there didn’t seem to be anyone hanging around worrying about it, nor any obvious effort underway to fish it out, so perhaps it’s been there for a few days and no one really cares.

Since I can only assume that many of the boats moored in the middle of the Science World end of False Creek in the early mornings have people sleeping in them, I couldn’t help thinking that it would be a rude awakening to find oneself upside down in the chilly March waters. I hope whoever it was made an effective escape. . . .

We noticed it last Saturday when out.

I think it flipped over about 2 weeks ago on a Friday or Saturday during one of those days where we had really high winds that were strong enough to flip over a Geo.

Yes, that would be the one.

So it’s been there at least a few days. It’s funny to me that it’s just sitting there. I guess I’m used to seeing parking tickets on any other vehicle left like that.
