Vancouver is often a smaller city than we suspect, as while out with my girlfriend eating Thai food I saw fellow Metbloggers Matt [mbv] and Maktaaq [mbv] exiting. We waved at each other, and then I explained who they were to the gf.
At that point she told me that she’d seen Maktaaq on the television, for some sort of promo for Port Moody or television or happiness or something I’m not quite clear on what it was. Which I don’t believe at all. Bloggers aren’t allowed on television it’s a media rule. That’s why Much Music had to stop playing Matthew Good’s videos, and then videos all music related programing.
On a tragic note we missed the 7:30 showing of V for Natalie Portman Bald and I didn’t get my Natalie Portman fix.
Coincidentally enough, we were going to the same show. It was sold out, if that’s any consolation, so we watched The Libertine instead.
And yes, that was Maktaaq on the CTV promo. It must be getting a lot of airplay for people who had never previously met her to recognize her from it.
Maktaaq is indeed in a CTV promo for The Amazing Race. She blogged about it way back when we when we were but a fledgling site. I have yet to see it. =P
Vancouver’s tiny – I’m surprised not to see the other Metbloggers but I know my haunts tend to be different from the others’.
That promo is getting a lot of airplay. I keep getting approached by people who saw me. I said stuff like “Port Moody watches CTV” and “Port Moody watches the Amazing Race.”
Does anyone watch tv? Is my commercial on every time there’s Amazing Race?
