What I like about Vancouver #1

I like the sudden burst of silve light that the tram busses give off from where they connect to the overhead wires.

I like driving by the Chapters on the corner of Broadway and Granville at night and seeing a young Asian couple kissing while going up the escalator to the second floor. What sort of books are they looking for? It will remain a mystery.

I like taking the elevator up from the Burrard Skytrain station and standing still as the city reveals itself to you, especially at night as the neon comes into view.

I like driving over the Granville Street Bridge at night and feeling like I’m in Blade Runner because of the high rises that reach up towards the sky.

Having just returned from my first trip to Vancouver, I have to admit that my most pleasant memory was the mini-ferry and going to the Grandville Market. It coudn’t hurt that this was the only time during our trip that this photoblogger was blessed with blue skies.

    1) Main Street in the spring.
    2) Vanier Park Dog Beach on a hot day.
    3) Alexander Street in Gastown between Main and Carrall when it’s raining.
    4) Happy Bats Video store at 15th and Main. The best obscure video and TV from all over the planet. Plus they’re nice to talk to.
    5) The Sea Wall
    6) Grouse Mountain at Christmas Time. Great view!
    7) Chinatown.
    8) My parka now serves as a dog bed. The climate!
    9) The race track! Hastings Race Course.
    10) Slurpees at dawn!
