Train of thought
I was thinking about how Cabaret is the season finale for Stanley Theatre and how I’m stoked to see Evita, the season finale for my beloved Neptune Theatre in Halifax.
Then I got to thinking of great times at Film Festo Alfresco, the outdoor film series on the pier back home and I Googled and found last year’s (?) Monsters in the Meadow, that there are free movies in Stanley Park in the summer, albeit just two.
Then further exploration of the Vancouver Park Board website brought me to the Dance at Dusk page. Did someone say dance? Did someone say dusk? I’m there!
So, on Monday through Wednesday from mid-June to -mid-August, from 7:30 until 9:30, lessons will be provided in Scottish Country Dance, International Folk Dance, and Ballroom Dancing. I’m so trying Scottish Country Dancing since I’m from New Scotland and the International Folk Dance looks intriguing as well.
As for the Ballroom Dancing, there’s another 10-week series Friday nights starting in July at Robson Square (2005 schedule). That’s why I won’t go to Stanley Park on Wednesday nights….
