I’m wanting to watch the Champions League final this week against Arsenal and Barcelona and get completely ill on beer. Drinking alone has its appeal, but I’d perfer to watch the game with fellow football (soccer) fans.

Anyone have any ideas of a good pub downtown that’ll be showing the game, and by showing it I mean where it’ll be the centre of attention and not just on as background action like hockey highlights?

There’s an English pub on Denman not far from my apartment that I’m thinking of going, but is there another place?

Probably the restaurant/lounge in Library Square. I think the place might actually be called Library Square.

Library Square Public House? I would think the Dover Arms (on Denman) would be a pretty great place for that sort of thing — and their Fish n’ Chips are killer!

Check out the Soho on Davie St. It used to be the Fox & Firkin. I know they have shown footy & rugby.

I watched the FA cup final at the Frog and Firkin in Kits the other day and it was fucking amazing. Not quite downtown but they do serve booze at 7:00am which is worth a jaunt across the bridge.
