It’s bike month, so go ride a bike

I probably should have posted this before the start of the month, but better a little late than never. June is Bike Month. You’re supposed to go ride a bike. The best calendar of events is the BEST calendar of events.

For those of you interested, one event I’m almost certain to participate in is the Stanley Park Bike Fest’s Brockton Criterium, a wild little race around the totem poles in Stanley Park. Cheer me on in category 4, wearing all red.

By the way, I pretend to be an expert in messing with bikes, commuting, and all sorts of other bike-related topics. Questions in the comments field will be treated respectfully and tenderly. Ask me anything bike-related, especially commuting and mechanical stuff. If I can get one or two of you gentle readers out on a bike this month, or better yet, biking to work, then I will feel an unseemly sense of accomplishment.

And if enough of you start riding to work, maybe there will be fewer cars on the roads, and I can finally stop riding my bike to work because the roads will be clear enough for me to commute by car.

I kid!

Know anyone who would like to buy a 14″ Giant Rincon (currently my commuter bike) so I can pick up a Kona Dew to commute with instead? ;)

It’s both funny and sad that there’s a Pontiac ad displayed right below this post on the main page…

Anyway, woohoo for bike month (and bikes in general)!!
