I went to The Walkmen concert last night with Lydia. We managed to score some seats along the upper bar on the second level, giving us a pretty good view of the stage and the band. Meanwhile my brother who was also there gave us the cold shoulder, because we weren’t cool enough for his new haircut.
The Walkmen were really great, and despite never really being able to get into their records I had a great time. The only drawback was the fact that the show was marred by a shitty sound mix which drowned the vocals out and really pumped the treble.
Today at work I’ve been playing their second album, and enjoying it a lot more because of the show last night which says a lot.
If you like the Walkmen you should consider listening to Jonathan Fire Eater to whom many of the Walkmen’s members belonged to almost a decade ago.

I was at the same concert and sitting along the same bar I could have been sitting beside you judging from your pics. Crazy!
I agree with you about the sound but other than that it was a great night. Since then I’ve been listening to a lot more Walkmen.
