Meatup Recap

It was a tidy group of six at Memphis Blues tonight, but I assure you, the food was worth the trip. The platter above served four people with ease. And then we went for gelato.

After the break, notes on the conversation.

-do you think scientists secretly plot to separate identical twins because they’re such useful comparators of the importance of genetics and environment?

-what do War of the Worlds, The Birds, and Jaws (the book) have in common? abrupt and somewhat unsatisfying endings.

-what do The Godfather and Jaws have in common? They’re mediocre books that were made into good movies.

-what’s the difference between In Cold Blood and the Angry Young Man plays? The former has aged a lot better than the latter.

-The movie version of Breakfast at Tiffany’s is very, very different from the book.

-Commercial Drive seems to have survived the weekend’s festivities with no ill effects.

-Who is your favourite enemy? Blogular, or otherwise.

-Matt and Maktaaq have decided to elope a few times. That’s what wedding planning will do to you.

-Do you prefer fast zombies or slow zombies? And what’s the proper tool for zombie elimination? Could you kill fast zombies quickly enough with a sword?

-If your name is Eve, sometimes the guy who introduces himself as “Adam” really is just a guy named Adam.

-Somehow, the topic of unhealthy food came up. Deep fried Bounty bars, deep fried ice cream, and then keith mentioned the Taco Town parody ad [transcript]. Could you make a turducken even more crazy by adding a quail on the inside and an ostrich on the outside?

-what’s the dividing line between being a vegetarian and a picky eater?

Oh my goodness! My heart valves just gasp for air just looking at that meat platter. Now I have an intense craving for something fatty, high in cholesterol and high in flavour.

Gah. Sorry I missed it, and after you moved it around for me. I’m still moving, and so life sucks. Life sucks. Bah.
