Where were you when Italy won?

I had to work on Sunday. That’s right I worked during the World Cup final. Luckily England weren’t in it or else I would have had to call in sick. As it was I took my lunch break at the same time that Italy and France went into extra time. I joined about twenty other people and stood infront of the Shaw Cable booth in Metrotown watching the last minutes of the match and then pelanty kicks.

Meanwhile anyone who is anyone in the Italian soccer fandom was on Commercial Drive ready to flood the streets, hook their horns and shout in joy. There were still people driving up and down Georgia Street at like 11 pm. If you missed the excitment here’s a short film to let you in on what happened. It’s like the end of the original English version of Fever Pitch.

Trust me it was louder if you were in Italy at the time. You could hear shouts of Italia & car horns all the way up into Switzerland.
