If you enjoy getting out and about on sunny July days (or even soggy ones) it may interest you to know that July is in fact, Parks Month (vpb).
Complete with scavenger hunts, activities and outing suggestions for every park from Alice Lake to Wells Grey(bcp), it’s something in which anyone who loves the outdoors can participate, alone or with the family.
Visit JulyisParkMonth.ca for more information. Also check out official Canada Parks Day events this Saturday, July 15th - find out what’s happening in your neck of the woods and go nuts!
Edit: If you need directions to any local parks the GVRD site is a great tool.

Rebecca, thanks for this most informative post. I enjoyed the read very much.
I honestly didn’t know July is Parks Month (in BC?, in Canada?)! I always thought July is Water Safety Awareness Month. I wish our city would post what kind of month it is. Perhaps if they changed that huge Telus logo on top of ScienceWorld (recently renamed to Telus World of Science) to indicate what kind of month it is, it would promote a better health system.
Then again: “Corporations Before Concerns”
Parks Month is for all of BC I believe. Events in and around Vancouver are happening in Golden Ears, Burns Bog, Ridge/Meadows, on the North Shore…
For Canada Parks Day there are even more things happening specifically on July 15th in Bear Creek Park, Burnaby Lake, Campbell Valley etc.
