Berries and Cheese and Wine, Oh My

So we ventured out today from the safe confines of our urban decay to kick it bucolic-style (hopefully you sense my intentional ridiculousness) in the cultivated wilds of Langley for a thoroughly enjoyable, thoroughly waspy day. How waspy was it? Well, we picked raspberries, tasted some wine and some port, had a frilly cheese plate at a vineyard and topped it all with a leisurely boat ride (ok, so it was the Albion ferry, that’s still a boat we still took a ride on it).

Anyway it was a great day and I highly recommend doing the same while our short berry season is still in full swing. Apparently strawberries are done for the year, but we still have plenty of raspberries and blueberries. Here’s a list of some great upick raspberry patches.

Oh yes, and Sunday is the Maple Ridge Carribean Festival, everyting be ire!
