Party tomorrow @ Hobo Joe’s place

Do not forget that tomorrow is the great Metroblogging Vancouver Meetup. You’re all invited, except you the one with the stripey shirt farthest left. Ryan’s already blogged about it, but I thought I’d copy and paste the information here just so that you could all gaze upon it once more.

Where: Third Beach, Stanley Park. I’ll hang a sign somewhere that says something like “Metroblogging Vancouver” or “Vancouver Metblog” or some such.

What do we eat: potluck. So bring a dish. Mention roughly the kind of dish you’re bringing in the comments (salad, appetizer, main, dessert, food-you-dare-people-to-eat, etc.) for one of those nice, internetty distributed-organization arrangements that are supposed to work out so well. As a concession to Matt and any others who are dangerous in a kitchen, you will not be scorned or shunned for stopping at the deli counter on the way from work. In fact, I’ll be rather disappointed if someone doesn’t bring along an $8 cooked chicken from the supermarket, as those things are a tasty deal.

I’ll be late, I work at Robson and Seymour until 8 pm. I’ll beeline there ASAP after.

Spring Rolls, Casserole, and a tasty brown rice thing have been promised already. So salad, dessert, and meat dishes would be good…

I can manage dessert, I guess. Hope stuff like brownies or butter tarts will be ok with everyone–I can’t really manage ice cream or a cake or pie, since I’m carfree and will get there by transit and bike. Cooked chicken (hot, grease-dripping, in a flimsy, non-tight-fitting, non-leakproof plastic container) is right out.

I have to get work done on a freelance contract that’s due very soon, else I’d have had time to bake something fantastic and actually would have made it. Not this time.
