Fantastic FalseCreek Fire – “Breaking” News!

Last night one of the houses near Mario’s Gelati on Quebec & 2nd avenue started burning. The flames were double the height of any of the surrounding buildings, and at least 9 fire trucks showed up on scene to battle the inferno.

News 1130 reports that there was likely no one home at the time. Regardless, it makes for cool viewing! Sure beats, say, watching Clerks II.

I know you Canadians boast about a slower lifestyle, but is 12 hour old news “breaking”?

And don’t be dissin’ on Clerks 2. :)

I was also down there taking pictures of the blaze. Alas, my camera ain’t so great and the light could have been better, so a lot of the shots look like art more than news photos. If you’re interested, check them out here.

They are beautiful shots, Jonathon. The house was completely destroyed by the fire, I’ll have some shots to put up later.
