So, what did you do this weekend? This is what I did:

Perhaps I should explain: I went out to Fort Langley this weekend to ride a cyclocross race, and after riding my race (I did badly but had fun), I went and filmed the Men’s “A” (that’s the fast guys) race.

If you want to see more of this, it’s coming soon to a city that is probably nearer to you than Fort Langley: on September 24, my [SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT] own bike club hosts the Team Escape Velocity Grand Prix of Cyclocross. That race is on the grounds of West Point Grey Academy, right in the heart of the West Side, and if you’re awake on that Sunday morning, it should be a fun thing to watch.

These races are part of a fairly serious series, which will feature further events in Vancouver, Surrey, and Delta through the end of October.

I’ve tried quite a few bike-racing disciplines, and cyclocross may be my favourite. And not just because it has the strongest culture of beer-drinking of any form of cycling (even more so than singlespeed racing).

Oh, and [ANOTHER SHAMELESS PLUG] if you want more details on the video or the event, see my blog.

    Good job filming this.
As much as you think this is a SHAMELESS PLUG, I beg to differ. This article was very much about Vancouver and I liked it very much
