We Are All Canucks
Last night we sat in GM Place for the first time in FAR too long. Although there were no signs of the new display screens [VCOE] the Garage looked the same. The Bert banners, however, have been removed and replaced with Naslund, Morrison and Luongo and the new blue and white posters boasting the slogan “We are all Canucks” are all over the place (including skytrain stations).
It felt good to be there and watch all the new kids strut their stuff although it was a little tough keeping up with the new names and numbers on the bench. And speaking of our 6 million dollar man, all eyes were on Luongo (sporting Kirk McLean’s old number 1). I have to say, he looked pretty confident.
The season officially starts October 5th (for the Canucks) and aside from the games there are a couple more events that the organization is sponsoring that may be worth checking out:
The Canucks Fan Run took place this past Saturday at UBC [Canucks.com] (sorry about just getting to this now), Canucks Super Skills is coming up October 29th [Canucks.com] and they also host Coaching Day in BC at the end of this week, on September 30th [Canucks.com]. For info on these events and more, check out the official website (or the one of your fave local canuck blogger) for all the puck-tastic details.
