As previously mentioned [mbv] our local soccer club, the Vancouver Whitecaps, were over in Rochester New York playing the Rhinos for the USL championships.

Walking down to the Run for the Cure this morning I caught a glimpse of a newspaper cover and found out that we won yesterday.

The Whitecaps captured their first ever USL First Division Championship with a decisive 3-0 win over the Rochester Raging Rhinos. The Whitecaps become the first team in ten tries to take the trophy on the road, while completing an unprecedented club double winning the USL’s highest honours in both men’s and women’s play [whitecapsfc]
