The scary dark of Stanley Park: Part #1

wood covered with snow

Lydia and I tried to go to the Stanley Part Ghost Train [cv] tonight. She seemed convinced that we could walk there, as opposed to driving through the park to the starting point of the train. Trouble being it was super dark we made our way down the seawall until we would have had to venture into the spooky dark of the park.

Being cowards we gave up and fleed the park screaming like the people in the Blair Witch Project. In the end none of us had to stand in the corner, so I guess we survived. Tomorrow we’ll bring a car so that should be okay. I’m sure we can brave it out.

We walked back from the Run for Light (a late night run for charity in the spring) with only our glow sticks from the run to guide us. Yeah man, does it ever get DARK in there!

Just stick to the path that starts by the harbour and runs straight through the lit area to the parking lot by the Ghost train. It’s only dark for a short time and the scariest thing I ever saw was a family of racoons.
