Vancouver Sculpture Biennale

It’s been around since last October and I’m sure you’ve seen some of the works if you’ve been downtown during this time.
The Vancouver Sculpture Biennale is an international art show that takes place once every two years. It is unique in the world of Biennale’s, focusing on both sculpture and the urban landscape. This eighteen-month festival of events celebrates the cultures of the world, the diversity of the city [vancouverbiennale]
A previous Metblogs post was made in February, My Favourite Sculpture and since then people have been visiting the various locations or stumbling across the pieces and snapping up pics.
If you DO have pics of the artwork (located at various points on this map) you can submit them to the Flickr Group and enter a contest.
We’ll be giving the winner for this and other Biennale contest winners tickets to the Vancouver Art Gallery. The [winning] photo ran in todays issue of 24 Hours in Vancouver and will be posted about on VancouverBiennale.com website shortly. The next photo contest has started (they run every two weeks from now until the future) so get your photos into the pool and let your friends know about the group and the contest [vancouverbiennale flickr group]
So keep your eyes peeled, snap some shots, pick your fave (mine is the big metal thing that looks like brontosaurus ribs… ya know from the opening credits of Flintstones and/or the guy inside the circle at English Bay).
Don’t know what the heck I’m talking about? Visit the website for more details, info about the artists and plenty of gorgeous pics.
The Vancouver Sculpture Biennale runs from October 2005 to April 2007.
