Halloween Downtown: Do you know this band?

Granville and Robson, 9:13 pm Halloween night, and I see this:

I’m not sure if the picture is clear, but that’s a full, nicely amplified rock band, wearing Halloween costumes, and playing a concert from inside the Canada Line construction site. They’re separated from the audience of some dozens by the construction fence.

They were still playing when I went by about 15 minutes later.

So, who was that masked band? Seemed to be some sort of reasonably indie, sorta grungy sound (I couldn’t stay to listen for very long), and I don’t know the genre well enough to say if they were playing covers or their own material. Who put them up to it?

Neat stuff.

The general observation of my lovely bride was that downtown you got to see Halloween for grown-ups: lots of costumes everywhere, with most of the women’s costumes conforming to the general trope of “sexy [costume type]”, though we’re also talking about party-goers and clubbers, so I suppose that sexy would be kind of the default dressing style in costume or out, eh?

As for me, I dressed up as a sexy pyrotechnician, and set off a few dozen fireworks for my young nieces and nephews, and assorted neighbourhood kids. The quality of contemporary pyrotechnics is highly entertaining!

    “sexy pyrotechnician” HOT!

Nice snapshot (I’m assuming on the nokia? ;) hehe) Weird but very cool, hopefully someone will know and solve this mystery.

Why yes, that shot was taken with my Nokia 6682! As bad as this shot is, it shows the advantage of having a cameraphone: if you’re carrying your phone, you’re carrying your camera.

You can tell the sexy pyrotechnicians by their black leather jackets, and the fact that their hair is on fire. Very chic.
