Food Bank Giving, Made Easy

If you’re looking for a way to help those less fortunate this season and have absolutely no idea about *how* to go about doing so, there are a lot of events organized and websites setup to make donating the easiest part of your holiday season.

Let’s start with the live-on-location radio station events. Since these are traveling around and chances are, there’s one in your neighbourhood. Stop by, meet your favourite on-air personalities and even have a chance to win some nice prizes.

99.3 The Fox - Santa Fox Food Drive: Located at the Superstore on Grandview and Rupert all week long (Dec. 11-15). Proceeds benefiting the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Google Map

Z95.3 Nat & Drew’s Food Bank FIll Up: Located at several Safeway locations around the lower mainland all week long (Dec. 11-15). Proceeds benefitting the Greater Vancouver Food Bank & the Surrey Food Bank.

Capers Community Markets 5% Day: On Dec. 13th 5% of sales from each Capers will go to the Food Bank

The last one I’ll mention here (for now) is Community Angels Day:

Visit the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society at 1150 Raymur Avenue between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 16th, 2006. Pre-register to secure your spot. For a minimum $50 donation, you will:

- Assemble a Community Angel basket for those less fortunate & personalize it with a happy holiday wish
- Receive a delicious lunch provided by Nando’s Chicken
- Visit with Santa
- Meet sports personalities
- Visit with Rock 101 personalities
- Learn about the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society’s programs
- See how your donations make a difference
- Be entertained by the Drum Cafe
- An hourly draw for great prizes
- And more…
