Canada won the World Junior Championships this year. Last year’s was held in Vancouver, and thus was a bit easier to follow. This year I actually did not catch any of the games, though I followed it by wearing my team Canada rain jacket which prompted people in every store I went into to give me updates on the scores.

Because of the time delay this year Canada won the gold medal game agains the Soviets… errr sorry Russians, during the afternoon. I was wandering around Oakridge and saw the awarding of the gold medal while standing in the entrance of the Sony store. I must admit their victory looked twice as sweet on the high definition TVs and if I was Rich Uncle Pennybags from Monopoly I would have bought one there.

Not being a fictional board game billionaire I simply walked away.
