Matthew Good talks group blogging
Matthew Good’s [mg] blog is one of my few daily must-reads. When he considered leaving blogging for good I, and countless others, wrote him letters of support to try to convince him to keep blogging and it seems like he’s decided to stick around the web awhile longer. Which is great news for his readers, and his fans. I imagine it’s hard doing any honest blogging and being a semi-public figure or celebrity since everything you say is taken under the microscope and then kicked about in pubic, but his blog has always been a really unique way for his fans to feel more connected to the artist behind the tunes.
The fact that he’s sticking to blogging for awhile longer is something that makes the entire Vancouver blogosphere a little bit better. However it seems like the blog will be changing a bit, into something more Metroblogging Beyond Urban Vancouverite-ish. That’s right he’s entering into the wacky world of group blogs, or seems to be anyway [mg]. The subject matter will include “everything from the arts to local fashion to food and culture will be featured, so it should be pretty cool” [mg].
Unlike Metroblogging Vancouver, which is a blog that any Vancouver blogger can join [mb], the bloggers are going to be hand picked by Good. As long as it keeps him blogging, I’m all for it.

Kicked about in pubic? Ouch. Painful Freudian slip?
