Super Socco: a simpler time

Super Socco

If you were to do a Google search on the old juice drink Super Socco you’d find my post from April 2004 on the drink [jks]. For nearly two years I’ve been trying to track down a picture of the juice box that I used to enjoy so much during the 1980s. Tonight I got an email from a reader directing me to this sale of four Super Socco juice boxes [lfa]. $15 for four boxes of juice? Oh my, now that’s a sale I can get behind.

Looking at the picture I felt all weepy. A rush back to a childhood, and a time when Expo ‘86 seemed like a big deal. Now we’re all drinking new types of juice boxes that would have been unimaginable back in the ’80s and something like Super Socco seems just a little bit more special. Like how Alf seems charming now when you see repeats.

So thank you for the picture. Long live the power of the internet.

Ha Ha. That stuff’s great. I remember that, and the Little Professor calculator. They were both part of my life.

I also used to drink a lot of Jolt Cola and New York Seltzer back in the day.

But I bet it’s the Super Socco stuff that gave me cancer.
