Escape the gloom, go loco in Mexico

http://vancouver.metblogs.com/archives/images/2007/01/mexico-thumb.jpgToday I saw two buses in a row go past on Seymour Street, emblazoned in giant Mexico tourism ads. Evidently, the Latin Americans have somehow discovered that we have really, really bad weather here around this time of year.

Even though we’re just coming off holidays, there’s a lot of people I know who could use a little time away in the sun.

Fortunately, I’ve got two tickets to Las Vegas I’ll be using very soon to get my fix of sun. Otherwise, I suspect the bus ads would have been very persuasive.

Man, it’s gloomy out there.

I think they’re also realizing that the US has become a real pain in the ass about Canadian tourists these days.

(“Tourist?” It practically rings of “terrorist!” See? Tourist. Tourst. Terrst. Watch out!)

You’re missing the fact that the bus, at lest when I saw it, had a woman in a bikini in some sort of terrarium like enviroment. A real live woman, just sitting there being in the artificial Mexican sun(lamps).

I did see that bus, and I’m glad you reminded me. But the ones I saw the other day were just ordinary transit buses ferrying commuters. Evidently, the Mexico tourism marketers are going all out.
