Vancouver needs a good comic con

As I’m geeking out and preparing to go to my second consecutive Emerald City Comic Convention [ecc] in Seattle this weekend, (”OMG I’m going to meet Brian Michael Bendis how awesome is that?“) I’m pondering the fact that Vancouver’s not really got any good convenitons. Oh there’s the summer science fiction con featuring basically people from locally filmed sci-fi shows like StarGate, but there’s nothing really big or interesting to draw in both the celebs and the fans.

If Seattle can have Emerald City and get Adam Hughes, Mark Bagley, Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Golden , Mike Oeming and Frank Cho why can’t we have something? I hate having Seattle envy, but goddamn it this year Emerald City is stepping it up a notch and Canada has to make do with one in Toronto. Damn you Toronto and Seattle, damn you to Hell.

Found you through google while googling for vancouver comic cons. I’m an artist and missed ECC (I just moved out west and looked for my cons like 3 months later than I should have) and I’m sad that there’s nest to nothing in vancouver other than a monthly jam.

I’m contemplating going to Paradise in toronto, but it’s too close to another con I’m attending and I have a day job.

Curse you toronto, seattle and my day job :P
