Round one // Game two
It’s possible to overstate how into the Canucks this city is right now. Oh it’s obvious why you might think that there’s nothing on the mind of Vancouverites right now except for the much cherished Canucks. The city’s buses cheer the team on between advertising what route they’re taking, Canuck jerseys are numerous even on the rainy streets and the daily papers are Canuck crazy. The only place you can find reprieve from this is in the local weekly A&E papers, but hey the best stuff in The Straight comes from Seattle anyway.
I was at a friend’s wedding in Edmonton last year during the last few games of the Stanley Cup final. You want hockey mad, that’s hockey mad. Hopefully if Vancouver keeps playing like they do the Canucks will get deeper into the playoffs and Robson or Commercial will be as lively as Whyte Ave was, because frankly when the one real sports celebration this city has seen was Italy winning the World Cup you have to know something’s wrong.
As for in-depth game stuff? Well I think as long as the Canucks score more than they let in they have a good chance of winning.
