For the brave souls out there:

I’ve heard of this event, but I didn’t think Vancouver was a participating city. I stand corrected. I took a picture of this poster while waiting for a bus just to see if it was legit. Turns out our city’s been participating in this since 2004. I had no idea. I will not be attending this event as I am not that courageous. Not even for the photo opportunities. Not even for the picnic afterward. But for those of you who do ride naked, have fun!

Last year that event took place just a few days after I arrived in Vancouver. I was on a bus and it drove by a couple of hundred naked cyclists. I remember thinking something along the lines of “wow I’m really going to like this city”.

Brave? I take the courageous stand that the world should not be exposed to my naked body more than necessary.

It turns out this is almost never necessary.

    Your body may vary,

I’ve seen so many nude protestors of this or that living downtown that I hardly notice anymore. But don’t stop, I’m not complaining :)
