Fuck off Hollywood

There’s nothing like trying to sleep with an epic level light source stationed right outside of your bedroom. It’s sort of like living in the north during those months where there’s no night.

All I can say is whatever they’re filming and keeping me up with had better be good and not something lame like Stargate SG1: The College Years or whatever other thing they’re generally filming. Whatever it is they’ve got a lot of American style police cars and an ambulance.

It doesn’t matter. I guess I’m not sleeping.

If you think Stargate SG1 is lame, then would you please list shows you don’t think are lame? And on what grounds do you think it’s lame? Because it’s scifi?

Nah, I’m fine with Sci-Fi. I was weened on Star Trek: TNG. I just really never could get into any of the Star Gates. I hated the movie, and the shows while better just seem like Trek retreads. I’m sure if I spent a significant amount of time with them I might learn to love it, or lower my standards, but I don’t feel like it.

As for non-lame Vancouver filmed shows? Battlestar is aces though I’ve yet to finish the first season. Smallville isn’t perfect but it’s fun.

My main beef with Vancouver filmed shows is their decision to keep me up this evening. Thankfully they went home shortly after that post.

film crews are allowed to be on the street till 11 PM typically. We referred to it as the “tail lights by 11” rule (I use the past tense as I’m no longer in the biz) Also, if you have a problem with the production you can usually head out towards set and start asking for the location manager and ask them to do something about the light blasting into your windows. I’m guessing the lighting/grips department on that show wasn’t on the ball because they SHOULD have been doing their best to keep the lights from annoying the neighbours. Shame on them.

It’s called a sleep mask. They’re inexpensive and easily available. Buy one. Use it.

But I know, it’s more fun to complain about something than to do the simple things to alleviate or solve it.
