Meetup: Memphis on Commercial

navbar.jpgBetter late than never, right? Due to some scheduling conflicts, the monthly metblog meet is a bit later than usual: Tuesday, June 20. And this time, the meetup is about the meat.

We’re going to meat meet at the Memphis Blues Barbeque House on Commercial. I’ll show up around 8pm, and I expect most of the gang will be there about the same time, but you can show up whenever you want. RSVP in the comments appreciated, but not required.

Vegetarians worried about their options, please rest assured: there are more than three different vegetarian menu options, including Green Salad! So you’ll have plenty to eat, if you just count Yogi’s as an annex of Memphis Blues.

If there’s enough of us, I recommend we go whole hog and order the Priscilla. Survivors may then optionally waddle down to La Casa Gelato for the after-party, wherein we will all order double scoop cones and die trying to finish them.

If you’re worried about how authentic Memphis is, rest assured that Metroblogging Vancouver’s resident displaced Texan has been there, and declares it tasty.

I assure you Warwick: the flavour of meat is as good as the hype! It’s one of those special things in life that isn’t a disappointment at all.

I hear that Commercial Drive is World Cup Central for Vancouver. Obviously the live games are not occurring during our dinner time, but I’m looking forward to the fanfare that is still lingering.

Ryan - I agree! I was in Nashville last month and had the most unbeleivable BBQ at the Jack Daniels distillery. Yumm. You always remember your best steak haha.
