Northern Voice

I know that it’s still a few months away, but has anyone already registered for Northern Voice 2006? I was thinking of going, but am still a little undecided. Anyone go last year that can recommend either for or against?

Conferences aren’t normally my thing, but I did meet a few local bloggers through it, as well as quite a few from around the world whom I know from having read their weblogs and chat with on IRC/IM. It’s cheap: $50 is really a great price for two days of hanging around like- and unlike-minded people who are doing what you’re doing and maybe learning a thing or two about blogging.

For that price it could be bad and still be a good deal. But I went last year, and it was extremely good.

I’m signed up for this year already (disclaimer: my wife might be speaking).

Went last year, and it was actually life-changing. The corridor and dinner conversations were at least as important as the sessions, which were awfully damned interesting. Honestly, it will take you to a whole new level.

(Agh, I make it sound like Scientology. It isn’t. It’s cheaper, and the celebrities are more likeable.)
