Long Hiatus – Gonna be a dad again!

It’s been awhile since I’ve made an entry here… my wife is pregnant with twins and it’s been a rough ride. Thankfully my wife is doing well and we’re down to the last week. Thankfully, they haven’t removed my access here on metblogs! :)

Over the course of the past eight months, we’ve had first hand experience of just how good we really have it here in BC in terms of health care. I know that there are flaws and imperfections, and that there are people who are waiting awhile for surgery. (My dad is one of them – knee surgery) But for my wife, our Doctor and the high risk pregrnancy specialist have been quite good.

First of all, they ensured that my wife would get an ultrasound every month. She had an appointment with each doctor once every two weeks, and they were able to give great advice and correct problems quite early.

Now, we just have one week to go. If she doesn’t give birth the next few days, they’ll induce… then bada bing! I’m a dad again… but with a family of five!

I hope that there won’t be any problems. She’s quite big and I’m a bit nervous on whether a C-section will be necessary or not. Heh… I’m beginning to wonder if it’ll be better if I just wait out in the lobby during the pregancy.

Anyway… wish us luck!

Congratulations. Twins can be a scary ride (ours are two and a half), but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
And my wife got excellent treatment whle she was expecting as well. Regular ultrasounds (which she enjoyed, because she was on absolute bedrest for the last 10 weeks of her pregnancy). Ultrasounds were her escape from the apartment.
