Border-Busting discussion

Tomorrow evening (Monday 17 July), I’ll be going to Border-Busting, an informal discussion and Q & A with Katrin Verclas, the executive director of Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network (N-TEN), a US group of nonprofit technologists. Venue: the Radha Yoga and Eatery (730 Main Street, above the Brickhouse); time 7:15 to 8:00 pm, with discussion at the Brickhouse planned both before and after. The event is organized by Social Tech Brewing, a somewhat more informal Canadian gathering of people interested in technology and nonprofits.

At the moment, I know nothing more about the event or the two groups involved, nor even the venue, apart from what I’ve read on their websites (all relevant links given in previous paragraph). It is, for me so far, an event on that happens to pique my interest. (And that’s as good a reason as any to check it out.) The cool-sounding venue it will be in is a bonus; a pity it won’t be open for dinner tomorrow evening.

Disparate groups coming together to work on projects or to make use of each other’s talents cooperatively always intrigue me. I hope the conversation (before, during, and after) will be informative, interesting, even though-provoking. Will follow-up with a write-up of the event afterwards.

I’ll look forward to seeing you there… and I’m glad to see that works so well! :)
