Feenies! Good Eats!

Last week my wife and I were joyriding in the west end. We passed by Lumiere and saw Feenies. We decided to give it a try. Lo and be hold, Chef Rob Feenie was there! He’s a lot shorter than he looks on TV, but he was really nice. Although we had our double stroller with the twins, he said, “I’ll get my manager and he’ll arrange a table for you.” Unfortunately, our babies got a little to cranky for our liking so we decided to come again tomorrow

The next day, we made a reservation and fed the babies right before we arrived. They remembered us a reserved the perfect spot – outside on a nice sunny day with ample room for the double stroller.

While we were waiting for our food, we noticed that a number of people brought their dogs with them. Of course, they sat in the patio, but the waiter provided a nice dish of water for the dogs to drink – what service!

Anyway, the food was excellent. Salmon was crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. The rissoto wasn’t too dry or too bland either! – Try their poutine! You won’t regret it. It’s not the salty stuff you get from New York Fries – it’s the real deal, straight from Montreal. Pictures to follow!

I love Feenie’s! I went to the “taste of Vancouver” tourism event there and it was awesome. We had pan seared trout with beet risotto and sauteed bok choi. Dessert was raspberry hibiscus sorbet. It was so good………

You confused me for a minute – I had to think “when did Feenie’s open in the West End?” Lumiere and Feenies are on West Broadway, not in the West End :p

Regardless, we’ll definitely have to try it out soon, heard so much about the guy and his great food for years. Thanks for the report!
